One view of Shopify, ShipStation, Stripe and Amazon: why your data is siloed, and how to unify it

The four-silo problem

What unifying actually requires

Unifying is not stacking three dashboards side by side. It is joining the systems at the order level: linking each Shopify order to its ShipStation shipment and its Stripe payout through a shared key, so one order shows its revenue, its real shipping cost, and its net payout together. It has to be continuous, not a monthly export, because the leaks you care about, a fee that drifts or a carrier that slips, only show up as a trend. A worked example

An order sells for $60 in Shopify. ShipStation later shows the label cost $11.40 after a residential surcharge and a dim-weight reclass, not the $8.50 you assumed. Stripe takes $2.04 in fees and, a week later, a $60 refund plus a return that cost $9 to process. In four tabs, the order looks fine in each. Joined, it is a loss.
